Rare 1997 Renault Clio S Maxim Monaco Blue Rolling Project Williams-like £650 firm in Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan for sale

1997 Renault Clio S Maxim in Monaco Blue I bought this very recently with the view to bringing the car up to showroom condition but it's a little more work than I have the time for As you probably know this is quite a rare Clio and was introduced as a 'budget' sports model as it has the (still nippy) 1.4 Energy engine which is kinder on the insurance. Features over a standard manual Clio of the age Close ratio 5 speed sports gearbox Monte Carlo alloy wheels Sports front seats Two-tone cloth/velour'sign-up' trim Tinted glass Body coloured bumpers Tailgate spoiler and a few other bits no doubt Finished in pearlescent metallic Monaco blue Just over 92K with MOT until 19th October 2018 The bodywork looks nicer in the pictures than the reality. There are some surface rust patches that require attention - a patch on the front windscreen surround, a bit by the manual sunroof (currently sealed), a bit around the aerial. There is a patch of laquer peel on the bonnet and a small patch on the roof. Fundemantely the body looks straight apart from a couple of parking dings - but please come and inspect for yourself. The interior is very good but needs a good clean. Outside edge seat bolsters on both seats have lost some sponge and the drivers side has some loose stitching, but not much. The seats themselves are very comfortable in a racy way - unlike my RT seats which are comfortable in a relaxing way! So there you have it - these are getting quite rare now and this example deserves light restoration, it's a bit more than I want to do hence the sale. I have been looking for a Maxim for a year and bought this unseen. I'm just a really fussy person, I'm sure with some hours in, this will make a fab Clio More pictures available This drives really nicely, such good fun. The brakes and suspension seem fine and the car sits straight Two keys, book pack, potted history and working immobiliser Ownership has been transfered to my name on-line but I haven't the V5c yet, maybe we can do that online too?
